i was just wonderin if the 150w clip on would be strong enough for clams in a 12 gallon.

Is this 150W MH? If so, yes you could keep anything you wanted. If it is just PC I would recommend keeping just Derasas or Squamosas.

I have one of those, and it's the worst halide I've ever seen, puts out less light than my nano-cube...

Iku, I had that clip on light over my 20 gallon at one point. It hung way over the front so if you plan on putting it on a 12G you will have to modify it some how. Also I would suggest trying to get them to let you have a 14k instead of 20k. The 20k is not that strong and is very blue.

I have the coralife 150w MH,& its avalable in 10,000k,15,000k,& 20,000k.I have the 15,000k on my 10g nano and everything is doing great.I wouldnt want it any brighter.I did have to mod the fixture because it hung over the edge, but the mod took 10 min.and the results were 100%.

definitely trade the 20k bulb for a 10k. i did and now things are growing like crazy. the 20k bulb is literally useless. i have my HOB aqualight on my 20L. you will have to swap the arm around so it will fit in the middle of the tank. it really isnt a big deal. for the price, it isnt a bad setup.
