MarineDepot Live has them (Assessors) listed under Basslets, I believe. They call it a Golden Basslet. LiveAquaria has Comets (Marine Bettas) listed under "Miscellaneous Fish."

I see Comets all the time in just about every LFS in my area, they are a fairly common sight for me.
I do admit though that I have yet to see a Yellow Assessor locally for quite some time.

I'm assuming you were talking about 2 different fish. If what you are talking about is a fish that is both called a Yellow Assessor and Comet, then I don't know what you are looking for.

Yellow assessors often have intermittent availability. Often you'll see a run of them in stores for 2 or 3 months, and then won't see another one for 6 months.

sorry for the confusion, I'm looking for the yellow assessor. I said comet because I know that sometimes they are referred as yellow comets.

I only found two places that are selling them online now:

MarineDepot ($49):
http://www.marinedepotlive.com/golde...-basslets.html

Jeff's Exotic Fish ($69):
http://www.exoticfish.com/details.cfm?cat=0|1977|11|14|0&id=36641&

Another option is that maybe a LFS can order you one.

They are sometimes listed that way since they're in the same family as comets (Calloplesiops altivelis), which are often labelled as "marine betta".
