Bandit Angel Owners - Questions

Hi All,

I am kicking around the idea of seriously looking for a bandit angel. I would like to hear some experience from people who either currently own these fish or have in the past.

I know these guys can be hard to get eating and would be looking for a small specimen.

For those with these guys:

What types of corals and inverts are they housed with?

How large is your bandit and how long have you had it?

My tank is a 220 gallon (72x24x30) full SPS, no clams but could consider trying one or two.

I would be looking to get one roughly 2-3 inches and would be looking to get one from a reputable source. Any suggestions on this please PM me.

Thanks!

Thanks for the input John.

Do you have yours housed with any corals?

What size tank and what type of tankmates if you do not mind me asking.

Thanks!

copps on the board has had one for quite some time.

they are generally reef safe, however if you dont feed it enough (like most fish) they will find something to eat in the space given.

try to get one as small as possible

Weve got a mated pair in our reef tank at work; the female behaves herself fairly well, but the male does nip at LPS. It has managed to take small pieces out of Lobophyllia and Trachyphyllia, and we feed that tank a good 5 or 6 times most days. Luckily, it has ignored the 12" gigas clam and crocea clams; however, I will say that we conditioned the male to prepared foods by giving him mussels on the half shell- which he Devoured. Overall, I would say its one of the safest 'large' angels in a reef though.
