Custom 29 Sump

Hey guys, I am planning on building my sump out of a standard 29g glass perfecto, which measures:
30x12x18.

I want to model it like the 20g long from melev's site.

Skimmer/refugium/return.

The skimmer will be the Tunze 9010, which is tiny and only needs about 5x5, and the return pump will most likely be the ehiem 1260.

I am going to get the baffles cut once I find a place to do it. Will they cut teeth into the baffle for the fuge for me?

Looking for comments on my idea. Im thinking this will cost me around $140 or maybe less. I was looking at the ADHI 30 refugium, although very nice it costs over $325

I have never attempted anything like this, so any thoughts, comments, or ideas/advice please!!!

Dave

Oh yea, its for a 70g Oceanic Tech Tank.

i used a 29g for my sump for my 90g. I have pictures of it in my build thread, red house. I used a skimmer with a larger footprint than yours though, so you'll be able to have a much bigger fuge. There's really no need to cut teeth into baffles, i used a piece of eggcrate on top of the baffle to keep my chaeto from going into the return section.

I remember following your thread. Awesome tank. I will go back and check the fuge.

Any other comments?
