metalic green wellsophyllia feeding?

Just got a metalic wellsophyllia and I dont know what to feed it. I bought it from a LFS and I was given DT's phytoplankton. Is this enough or is there more It needs?

I have never fed any of my 7 brains indivdually and they live and grow great. Your usual Tank food + DT's is more then enough. if you want to give them a treat a chunk of shrimp/scallop/muscle just about anything like that is good

Wellsi will eat meaty foods, given the chance. I will take indiviual mysid shrimp (I use the frozen PE brand) and put them on the individual polyps near the mouths. It will take them 5-20 minutes to completely ingest the mysid, but they seem to appreciate it (ie, I had a frag of 3 red wellsi polyps in November, and I now have 9 polyps (and I only feed the three adults at this point).

Here's the original colony, before I fragged it down to only three polyps...

FWIW,
Kevin

I didn't know you were talking about Balsto Wellsi???? wellsophyllia- I thought you were talking about Brain corals???

I Have never fed My balsto's. I will have to try it with that type of growth.

Kevin, you gained 6 polyps in 5 months?? How often do you feed. I have Wellsi's that I have had for 3 years and have never grown any new polyps

Actually brains tend to eat meaty foods more then Blasto. If you want to take the time to feed by all means please do. But it is not required for them to live and be healthy as long as you have a stable tank with decent lighting
