Coral Banded Shrimp may attack shrimps, worms, feather dusters, hermit crabs, anemones, corals, snails and other crustaceans. They can even act aggressively to smaller fish. The larger they get the more trouble they can be.
With that said I know plenty of people who have kept them in a reef. The key is to keep them well fed and watch them at night to see if they are feeding on things you don't want them to.

Also if you make a nice cave for it the shrimp will pretty much stay there, even at night, especially if you keep food coming its way. In a 120 what may happen is your other shrimp will stay at the opposite end of the tank.

I have a snail, and some small feather dusters. My banded shrimp has gotten pretty big, and has never bothered anyone.
maybe it's just a matter of time haha |

I have a big one in a 28 gallon and he has never hurt anything. I have many snails, hermits, etc. He does pinch the fish when they get too close, but he's not trying to eat them.

I have 2 of them. One in my 75gal and it hasn't bothered anything, there are 2 peppermint shrimp, a pistol shrimp, a sally lightfoot, and all kinds of hermits.
The other is in my Nano, it has nipped at a fish once or twice, and has killed all my turbos, but it is the most interesting inhabitant in the tank. On its last molt is lost one of its big claws, so now it isn't going to be doing much damage to anything for a while. In a 120 you should be perfectly fine, from my experience the more space they have, the better. |

Had mine bout 3 weeks, killed and ate(I watched him)3 of my cleaner shrimp. IMO stay clear! If you want, try fire shrimp,IMO.

I have 2 in my reef, never a problem. I feed them fish or Krill in the morning. I also have Cleaners, Peppermints, Hermits, and Snails without issue.
They mostly eat worms and small things from the rock. |

They will hunt and kill fish, let alone snails. They really are not for community reefs.

I have one in my 90. He is very peaceful and minds his own business. The only time he tries to grab a fish or other crab is if they swim too close to him. No worries, the fish are faster.
