Seeking Milli Willi

Howdy, all...

I'm rebuilding my tank after a serious algae issue...ended up taking the 240g apart, dumping most of the rock, removing the DSB and rebuilding my rockwork and flow, all about 2 months ago (19 hour day...nasty). Things are recovering nicely, but during the last year I lost a few pieces that I really miss. One of those is the Milli Willi.

I got a frag from Wilbur years ago, and over a 3 year span it had grown up and out almost like a table...about 18 inches across just below the surface of the water. Here's an old picture...got much bigger:

When it died it was the last straw that made me decide to take the rebuilding plunge. If possible, I'd like to get a frag of it, for old times sake, and grow it out again. Anyone local have one?

Arthur

Check on our FRAG swap coming up this weekend. Someone might have one. The thread is a sticky at the top of this forum.

Thanks...haven't seen anyone with Milli Will in there, unless I missed it. I'll glady arrange a trade or buy one, if anyone has the true "Milli Willi"...

I call it a Acropora prostrata, picture is kinda washed out.
normal polyp extension makes it look fuzzy like in your picture, and this shot is from the top looking down.

Hi, all...

Hugo is right...I was at Eric's a couple days ago, and he doesn't have it (nice set up, though). We got to talking about old times, and that's what made me think of the Milli Willi.

Surely somebody around here has a piece, no? If not, we need to track it down as a group and grow it out locally...it belongs in SoCal.

I'm rebuilding the tank, coming along nicely, and want to try to reacquire a few nostalgia pieces. Milli Willi is at the top of the list.

Could this be it or something close? I got it as a frag over 2 years ago but for the life of me can't remember who I got it from. All I can remember is that it's an A. prostrata. You can't see it in the pic but the longer branch tips are blue.

That's a nice one Kenny! I don't think it's the willi milli though. From what I remember, the willi milli has intense bright blue tips. Please correct me if I'm wrong Wilbur! Nice to see you lurking out there... =)

Thanks everyone. Mine does have blue branch tips but they are too close to the water surface to take a good pic. I'll give it another shot once I move it over to the 300G.

FOSELONE - yes, I still have most of them but a busy work travel schedule has resulted in some casualties.

Wilbur! Long time no see. I'm trying to get back the Milli Willi.

Hey, remember this one? I got this big poci from you when you took down the tank to move...
