pics of tame hummingbirds

well, maybe not tame, just ravenously hungry and paying absolutely no attention to what they are landing on while protecting their feeders. here's one on my finger...

here's one of gary's brothers trying his hand at it (no pun intended )

That's pretty cool. I'm usually standing out with the camera in my hand. I should try that someday.

What terrific pictures Nina. Any more?
Hummers are the best birds to watch, my garden is full of them, flying here and there for nector.
I don't have hummer feeders out as dont have the time to remember to change them daily but seems they get enough to eat from the flowers anyway.
Love the pictures
You should print that first one out and frame it. It is terrific

yeah poukie, you can feel their little feet but they are so light, it's just sort of like a tickle.

i have 3 or 4 more karen but they are all pretty much the same as what you see here. for whatever reason, our hummies prefer nectar feeders even when the flowers are in full bloom. this time of year and in the early spring when they first arrive, i mix the nectar 3 parts sugar to one part water, just to give them an extra boost of energy. it's nothing to see all 4 perches full with another dozen or so hovering around, waiting their turn. i have 10 feeders out and i'm now going through about a gallon a day.
