The room for the tank looks awesome too! One question, where is the front going to face? Towards the door? Or towards the living room? So whats next after tiling? A stand? Keep up the good work! |

Great looking tank. You are going to love scrapping corralline and doing maintenance in that tall tank What thickness acrylic is that? 1 1/4"?? I presume from your pictures, and please correct me if I am wrong, that you are going to get the stand and the tank into the room through the opening and then place some framing around the edges. If that is the case, that looks like a very close fit. I am sure you thought about that before you built everything. What do you have planned for circulation? With that size of a tank, I would have turned the back wall of it into swiss cheese. You have so much room in it, you could put 4 close loops with 4 sequence 5800 and then another 3 close loops with MAK4 pumps going into 2 eductors each. Then, you can use 2 AM3000 for the returns from the sump. I have a small piece of advice. It seems you have planned this well so far. DO NOT go low on the flow and equipment now. Now is your best time to do it right and put as many close loops as you possibly can. Drill tons of 1 1/2" bulkhead holes now that you can and if you don't think you are going to need then, you can always put a closed valve to it. Maybe you change your mind in the future. I am saying all this because I made that mistake setting up my 360 gal tank. Now that it has been set up for a year and this are growing well, I wished I was back at day one so I could drill the hell out of it. OK, I'll get off my advice pedestal and let you enjoy that puppy. Oh, and the tank too. Alberto

ted,
great job and love the documentation/pics of the progress. when tim mentioned you were eccentric and a perfectionist, i didnt think he was really serious. your setup will truly be awesome and cant wait to see the finish product, of course with a variety of my frags in there..lol...wat a pleasure it would for my frags to be showcased in there..lol jp what magnet are you planning on using to clean that glass? |

Hey Alex,
Whats up? Thanks for the kind words, and yes this would be a nice showcase for a lot of your awesome, exotic frags Give Tim or I a buzz if your ever in town. BTW, your CS6-3 is working awesome on my 95hex. Talk to later. Thanks, Ted PS. the magnet? I think I should break off the magnet of one of my old 10" Cerwin Vega Subs and wrap it with yet a very very soft teri wool cloth that's acrylic safe...I think it might work? ...I'm not sure yet what exact magnet i'm going with.
