Bulkhead at home depot
I need to know if home depot would sell this or whether I need to aquatic ecosystems or something. This will be used on a trash can that will gravity feed into sump. I could just use pvc and a ton of silicone, but have been advised that it isnt a great idea.

If the trash can is cylindrical (not a flat surface), you're going to want to use a Uniseal instead of a bulkhead. You can get them for a pretty good deal at savko.com. These are better designed for such a situation.

bulkheads work better in the soft plastic of a trashcan better than uniseals.

And there's not enough "meat" in a trash can for the uniseal to work right.

HD doesn't have bulk heads, but I've found them at a few of our local farm/ranch stores. They have them for spray tanks and such...
