Boxer/ Pom-pom Crabs...how many?

Hopefully my lfs will get several boxer crabs in stock in a week or so...

I want 2 for sure...but was wondering if I can get more for my 34g RSM tank?

Seeing how small they are I figure if I get more...say 4...I actually might see one on occaision...and if they like they can make plankton for the tank...

All I have for others at the moment are 2 emerald crabs and 1 peppermint shrimp...

Suggestions? Ideas?

I have 2, here is a link to a video I did of one... I was very lucky that it lived under the mushroom rock that the video starts out at so I saw it all the time. The other is in my fuge - am holding it for a friend.

Thanks! That helps a lot! How large is your tank? They're quite small...I suppose I could have more than 2 without issue...

They have a 'face' on their posteriors! Very cool! Wasn't aware of that!

I have 2 in my 65. I have lots of rock and usually don't see them until the daylights go off in the tank. They are pretty shy but very cool little creatures.

it's a 34 gallon CADLights with a 20 gallon sump/refugium. I have only seen the one in the refugium a couple of times as anything in there wanders throughout the different sections. Most people say that they aren't very long lived in aquaria so we'll see. I got them for I think $7.50 or so each on sale at bluezooaquatics.com

They're back to the normal price of $14.95 at bluezoo - still less than anywhere that I've seen.

Well...it looks like I might be getting 3...I'm 'adopting' one that is missing it's anemones, but otherwise healthy. It will be interesting to see what happens between the 3 of them. Hopefully they all do well...and the 3rd one ends up with anemones again!
