Diary of a 240!

Day one:
The day started at around 11:00 am . We began by taking and moving coral from the 125 to the 75 prop down stairs.

About a hour later my father once again came through and showed up to start the construction.

Paul and my dad started by scribing 2 x 12 lumber to match the floor. Then they assembled the base and secured it to the floor.

Here is the prize in all its glory!

Next were the legs.

Last for the day was the center vertical bracing.

Paul a happy little camper!

Ok do you acctually think that you can fill it to the exact 25 inchs? Just because the outside measures 25" dont mean the inner dimentions are 96 x 24 x 25 You forget the subtract for the thickness of the acrylic. Hahahaha nope its a 240.

They are all "close enough". My 125 isn't really 125 based on the outside dimensions, nevermind the inside. I put an oceanic and a perfecto 10-gallon side by side, and the oceanic was bigger!

The tank is paul prunier's . I took most of the photo's because he was busy with the construction. You would have to ask him any technicle questions about the tank.

Looking good. Keep posting on the progress.

I still haven't gotten around to posting my construction thread on the new 225+ and it's been up a few months and in the process of getting stocked.

jpg your tank looks like an exact clone of mine. My tank builder was midwest custom aquariums.

same 3 access holes with dual side overflows and return bulkheads in the corners.

only difference i see is that i had a bulk head put onto the top in the middle of the tank toward the back of the middle access hole.

what type of drains and returns did you do?

The tank is not mine it is paulpp187's. I was just taking the photo's because his hands were tied.I do believe the tank is a midwest custom aquarium.

As soon as I get my camera back ( let a friend use it) ill update the tread. I only took so many photo's because I jumped in and started to help.

i have to update that website. been busy putting everything together and getting it running.

currently it has been running for about 1 month now. fish are doing good, crabs and snails seem happy. starting to get coralline algae growth on the walls.

Live rock and live sand seem to be going good also.

temp is between 79 and 78.5
ph is beween 7.9 and 8.1
orp has been steadily climbing, it is currently at 405
salinity was at 53.1
