The choices are limited, and that is really why I switched to 250s.

If your trying to punch to the bottom, you may need a higher PAR and may need to stick to the 10K end of things to do so.

I have the Phoenix 14K on a 24g nano and is a nice balance of color and performance.

When selecting bulbs, I always say pick something you like to look at first, because if you can't stand to look at it.......what's the point?

I think everyone flip flops back and forth trying out different bulbs, if you don't like em......try another.

It really boils down to personal preference IMO.

Thanks that great advice, I have most of my corals up high and run my 2 150w mh with ushio 20ks now and I like the color but wander if I went to a 10k it will make my colors better on my acros , I just hate the yellow look.

I am using the icecap 10K 150W DE bulb. It provides good color with fast growth for the coral in my frag tank.
