Candy Cane bleaching out, too much light? see pic

I have had my candy cane (brown with green middle) for about one months and it is getting. It is getting medium flow but I located it near the top of my tank. I run 2 150W HQI but the canes are at the top of the rocks. Could it be getting too much light. Everything else in the tank is doing well and parameters are good. The only thing I can think of is too much light.

They don't like bright light, from what I've read. My own never really extended, so I cannot totally say, but I'm guessing it doesn't like it there.

I have 4 different colors of candy canes and none of them like bright light. Some of them started to bleach when placed in direct light but got their color back after being moved lower in the tank.

I think I would have to disagree here that "candy cane's don't like bright light". I have atleast, well numerous kinds, and they are directly under a 150k MH bulb. I do agree that this cane does looked bleached, but I think they can be adapted to being 1" under water below a MH bulb.

if u r using a strong light such as mh all coral needs to be acclimated to your particular light. start the specimen at the bottom of your tank ,after 2 weeks( my prefered time) move the coral up towards the light a couple of inches. repeat until youve reached that perfect spot on your rock work. there r a million and one ways of doing this but in my expierences this works 4 me
