RO Problems

Hey guys,

I have a Kent Hi-S Ro Di with a 60gpd membrane on it. I have a booster pump and change my prefilers regularly and still can only get about 8gpd out of it. I tapped my cold water line with a saddle valve and don't heat the water at all but i should be getting more that 8gpd right?

Help!

do you ever flush/backwash your system i find mine slows down if i don't do this once a week for 10min or so also the saddle valave uses a very small hole you should install a mini ball valve (r19) also the saddle valve will wear out and won't shut the water off after time

hth

I have a flush kit on it and use it once a week or so. The ball valve your talking about, how does it work? Do I have to plumb it into my cold water line or what? I'm not sure the hole in the saddle valve is the problem though, when I tested the flow right out of the saddle valve it seemed pretty strong.

the ball valve i'am talking about is the same ones that are used under sinks and to shut off the toilets but the brand (dahl) has a metal handle and a better cartage comparied to the cheap plastic one these are easy to install but you will need to do a little soldering can you post a few pixs of your r/o setup
