Deltec MCE600 For Sale

MCE600 - Deltec's HOB skimmer. It pulls a very dark, smelly skimmate. The unit is about ten months old and in good running condition. I also have aftermarket metric pipe and elbows for the return mods you will find in the Deltec forum. $300 takes it

I am selling the skimmer because I found a Tunze DOC9010 that will fit in my sump. I have very limited sump space but still wanted a high performance skimmer. Believe me, the Deltec does the job, but it is still a HOB. That means you have to see it on and partially in the tank (I have an open top). Same goes for any HOB - Remora, etc.

I always wanted a skimmer in the sump and finally found one that would fit. Time will tell whether the Tunze will skim as well. Up to this point I see one difference: the Deltec pulls a dry foam and the skimmate is extremely thick and smelly, while the Tunze skims wet with a skimmate that looks like urine.

If a HOB skimmer is for you, there is no better than the MCE600. The one I have is very clean and fully functional. Three bones is a lot cheaper than new.

I will respond to PMs in the order they come in.

Clark

I believe so. I haven't PayPal'd yet because I'm waiting for shipping costs. We've been exchanging PM's since the night of the post.

Thanks,
Kevin
