Aquacon

Anyone ever purchase from http://www.aquacon.com/ ?

I've placed an internet order from them about two weeks ago and have heard nothing. I called them last week and they said they were going to fill my order, still nothing?

This is bad business.

"Search"..it's what's for dinner.

Use the "search" Luke, use the "search".

I just flew back from "search" and boy are my arms tired!

Live long and "search".

I'm not an idiot like you seem to be implying.

The search is always disabled when I try to use it.

Think before you bash someone next time.

I'm just frustrated because of them.

I did try searching, but could not get the search page to load due to it being disabled, so I just posted here to see if anyone got shafted by them.

Call your CC company now and dispute it.

They get complaints once every week or so on here.

aquacon is the worst place ever to order from. I once ordered 50lbs of live rock form them and its was supposed to be here by second day, and it showed up like a week and a half later. Didn't even refund our money. WORST VENDOR EVER!!!

I don't think you were being bashed. A little sarcastic humor never hurt anyone. Aqua Con in a notoriously bad vendor and has been as long as I can remember, several years atleast.

I'd recommend:

Reefscience
Atlantis - can be pricey
Reeflabs

second picks:
Dr. Mac - although imagery molestation is apparent, and pricey sometimes
reefermadness - although imagery molestation is apparent, can be pricey

but above all, i recommend networking within the hobby. I get 80% of my livestock free from trades and fellow reefers...best method. If we all did it right, we would all be set and wouldn't have to shell out a fortune. problem is greed....

the business of this hobby has turned into an ugly mess, imo.

I live in the area and have been to there retail store Marine life usa. I went there thinking i could get the low prices that they have on the internet. But when i arrived i discovered that nearly every coral had a price MUCH higher then the online price. Overpriced zoos's and ric's. Everything was overpriced and the 2 guys working there were about as nice as a pro wrestler with a hangover. 2 thumbs down for them.
P.S.
I actually went there looking for the "cat eye zoo's" They have on there website. The zoos they had ooked absolutely NOTHING like the photo and were about twice as expensive.

Guess what showed up today in the mail? Part of what I ordered. I ordered three replacement filters from them for my RO unit about 5 weeks ago. The two cheapest filters showed up and the most expensive one was not in the box. So, that leaves me ripped off only $50 now. I will attempt to call them tomorrow, but I doubt I will get anywhere. What I will end up doing is disputing my CC charge.

Biggest bunch of crooks. I can't believe they are still in business.

Thanks for all the info you people provided, I've learned my lesson.

This is an old thread but here's my experience:

I ordered from them a couple years ago after my tank had cycled. First off they charged me twice on my credit card. Their specimens were not in the best of health...several doa's. When I called about the overcharge. They kept saying they would 'fix it' well, after several calls leaving them my home # trying to resolve it. They still did nothing. I called the cc company to dispute the charges. Now get this the woman (Rachel) at the time. She calls me and is very rude saying I should have give them a chance before calling cc company. H E L L O - Woman I Tried over and over again!! Anyway the conversation was going down hill very quickly. I finally had to hang up on this woman. Sheesh!!

Everyone Beware of aquaCON!

Just an update.

I finally got my credit card dispute refund perminent this month. Sure took a long time for something that was not my fault.

Anyway, they also go by the name MARINE LIFE USA. That was what the refund was issued under.

WARNING: DO NOT BUY FROM AQUACON a.k.a MARINE LIFE USA !

I just don't understand how they are still in business. Can't the BBB shut places like this down? There are years and years worth of complaints about them and nothing ever gets done. All the while, Aquacon has the last laugh.

Is there a way to report their bad practices to their internet service provider and have their website shut down or something?
