feeding regime for rbta?
I just bought a rbta and it's about the size of a softball when open. I'd like it to feed it more often to encourage as much growth as possible to host fairly large clowns. How often can I feed it and what is the best food for them? I have just been using mysis, formula 1 (red cubes cut up) and drop zooplankton into the tank every few days. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can feed it 2 to 3 time a week Silversides

I feed all my roses and other bta's daily peices of silverside and mysis soaked in selcon. With that regime they grow and split bi-monthly.

I just feed mines plain old natural silversides no vitamins added or any thing. cause there no drugs stores in the ocean. And It’s been doing great it has split a few time when ever it’s ready.

So they split that frequently huh? I'm not sure I want more than one! Guess I can always sell them back though!

Yes, one of my variants do, it will split monthly if i do it right. But, i have a tongan rose that is about 26 inches across, it only splits once it gets really huge, that also gets fed every day.

I'm not sure but I've heard of different species of rose. I don't think mine is the traditional one, I think it is the variant that is more orange and green. Am I right that there are different species being called roses?

One is a colony type, they split and grow and live in massive fields of rbta's. Tomato clowns are generally found in these. The other being the larger type rose, which grows by itself and when it splits the new rose moves far away from it. Maroon clowns are generally found with these. As far as color variant's, there are a million, i have 3 different variants of roses, and 9 different variants of bubble tip. I don't know how many in the wild there are, but i assume the color is just from where they are collected. fwiw

i agree with Austin on this one i was feeding once or twice every couple weeks and my BTA looked bad all the time. now ever since i started feeding 4 times a week silversides soaked in selcon my anemone is doing great i always thought my lights were not good enough now it turns out all the time i was just not feeding enough. ive had my bta for about 7 months and still no split
