using normal Ballast with VHO Lamps?

I would like to know if I can use a normal BALLAST with the appropriate watts, with my two VHO 24" Lamps(75 watts).

NOTE: the normal standard Ballasts are significantly less expensive than for example the IceCap 430 Electronic Ballast.

No you can not.

But you should really ask this question in the DIY or Lighting Forum.

You can use a simple VHO ballast that is inexpensive. Fulham Workhorse 7 (www.reefgeek.com), ARO (www.hellolights.com), etc.... $35 plus shipping and it will fire 220w worth of VHO in pretty much any combo.
