Crust on top of kalkwater. Suppose to be there?
I don't get this crust on the top of my kalk mix. Should I be?

Yes. It is calcium carbonate that forms when the OH- in the limewater combines with the carbon dioxide in the air to produce carbonate.

I guess there just isn't much of it there as I can't see it. I fill the containers to the top and there isn't much air left, barely enough to shake the mix up with. I remember when I first started using kalk noticing quite a bit of it. ah well, no worries I guess but I thought it was strange.

It can take a few days to form, and if the water is stirred, it will break up and fall into the water. If there is not much air there, there may not be enough CO2 to be a concern. Right, if it doesn't form it isn't a worry.
