Baking soda & kalk

I was just wondering if I can dose baking soda with my kalkwasser, or if I even need to? I use Mrs Wages pickling lime to make my kalk, and drip it overnight. I know it has a high ph, 12 I think, but as far as I know it dosen't raise the alkalinity?
