Is this a starfish & is it bad?

I found this new hitchhiker that has been hiding for the past two months. I can't really tell what it is. I thought it might be a Asterina like a cushion starfish, but it only has three legs at the moment.

I suspect it's an asterinid that's split or been injured in some way. Asterinids tend to be safe, but some will eat corals.

I have them also. The other day my neon dottyback picked one out of a hole in the rock and dumped the starfish in the sand!
