Bio Wheel baskets

What is the best thing I can put in those baskets for my mini-reef? I use zeolite in my cichlid tank but it won't work in a saltwater tank. Dolemite, more crushed coral, what?

Carbon would be good. You shouldn't put anything that stays in there and collects debris/bacteria.
