Rhyzophyllia Coral
Does anybody know what makes a Rhyzophyllia Coral worth $1400.00 (see it on http://www.aquaticbliss.com hand picked)? Is it really rare?

I fail to see the reason for the markup, I would not even call it an especially attractive coral.
typo maybe? |

ebay seems to have similar prices for the same named coral, though pics are different.... similar to those large "sun coral" looking things.

I guess when they refer to aquatic bliss, they are referring to theirs, not yours.
Looks like a disturbed anemone to me. But what do I know. |

They're very rare deepwater corals from Japan. Even over there they're rare.

hmm.. well, the ebay picture is much more attractive... but I still wouldn't pay for a sun coral on steroids.
maybe if it had electric lines flickering through it like a electric flame scallop, changed colors like an octo, and could blow bubbles that, upon reaching the surface 'popped' and said "Feedme Symoure!" Then, and only then, I might chuck out that much change. |
