Is Cookeville too far away to join MTRC?

Is Cookeville too far away to join MTRC? Do yall do stuff mostly on the west side, east side (or whatever) of town? Im trying to introduce my 10 year old to reefing,,,,and frankly I miss the Atlanta reef Club I used to belong to.
Any opinions on how far away folks commute to meetings?

You'd be one of the further members coming to meetings, but not the furthest, I think. John used to come down from Clarksville every month for meetings (~an hour). If you are willing to drive, I don't see why you couldn't join. West Tn had meetings in Memphis and Jackson, so people got used to driving pretty quickly, I think. There is an East Tn club, too. They may be further away, still, but another great group of people.

I'd say the distance to drive to meetings would be up to you and everyone interested in our hobby is welcome. The meetings bounce all over the area from Franklin to Ashland city, but mostly in Nashville.
You would be welcome as would your 10 y/o.

I'm pretty sure we may already have some members in Cookeville. You and your 10 y/o are more than welcome.

You are certainly welcome to join

Like Norman says, you'll have to decide if the drive is worth it. We've got folks of all ages in the club, and have 3 LFS meetings that have extra value (extra discounts at those meetings). It's a great place to learn and help others. We have members in AL, KY, and CO. Teamreefers just came to their first meeting. They are fairly far away (south of Nashville maybe about 90 minutes or so), and they just came to their first meeting this last weekend. We don't have any current members from Cookeville. We do have several members from the East side of Nashville (Mt. Juliet, Hermitage).
