Spiderweb algae?

I noticed the other day that I have two areas that look like they have spiderwebs on them. Is this some form of algae?

Is it growing on rock? A pic would help.

Could be a type of sponge that often looks kinda like a web.

If so, harmless.

yes, kinda growing off of a rock.

Could also be the mucus strands of a vermetid snail. Got any in your sump?
