6 per day here? man i have a lobster permit on my saltwater license and i thought it was 4.... links to a site that says 6 for me?

It's 6 per day for certain, except during mini-season when it's 12 per person (except monroe county)...

Here's a link, you might want to do some searching around on that site, lot's of harvesting information for marine life, fish and everything important.

wow, I hadnt realized that this thread was still popular. And there are still big lobsters out there. I caught a 4 pounder about a week ago, pictures coming soon.

one of my buddies got a 5 pounder today. Pictures are at work and I wont be back till wednesday, will have to wait for pictures.

wicked... do i need to carry my license with me? or can they just look me up in the system if i get stopped and have my drivers license... my fishing license is paper and i would think it would be destroyed day 1 of diving/fishing...

that's a nice one. But spinies do fight back, if they are big enough they can bite a finger off, and without proper protection your arms will get torn up from the spines. Usually by the end of mini season my legs are torn from the antennas sticking out of the bag.
r00onmac: yes you do need to have it with you, or learn the number by heart. Coast guard can give you a ticket if you dont have it, although if you get one and you do have a lisence you can always contest it.

Yeeoooow!!!! I never heard of lobsters biting.
I have caught spinies down in PR an have to admit that they do put up a fight. The power of their tails along with the spines can cause some damage. We were doing it without gloves and they did tear you up.
