Question Toadstool leather color question

I have had a toadstool leather for almost 2 years now and it periodically "sheds" as do most leathers...this time though, the polyps came back very, very light yellow/ gold instead of a brownish. The shed took longer than usual...maybe 7 to 10 days until I finally directed a powerhead from the other side of the tank at it . It is opening but the color change has me stumped. Has anyone else had a leather do this? I was getting ready to frag it and now I wonder if I should wait. Any input would be appreciated..thanks...

It probably just didn't have enough flow to shed properly. I would say it will return to normal color. I have had frags of devils hand from the same parent do this however. Some have white polyps, some a yellow brown. I am not sure why though.
