Anyone interested in a calm group buy?

Clams direct is offering a group buy for interested reef clubs. We would need a purchase of 10 clams. I would be getting 2 clams perhaps and I have a couple of people interested on other boards. Anyway, I'm just trying to gauge interest for now and if there is enough interest, then we can start a new thread with people confirming. We shouldn't confirm now because the clams go fast. I'm guessing that when we do decide we want to do it, we'll need to work fast to pick and then place the order. Pretty much the way it works is that 10 clams get purchased and then the shipping and box charges are waived. Shipping to IL is at least $50 so those who would have ordered individually, save a lot.
Anyway, this could benefit a lot of people here who may be interested in getting a clam or two. the website is just clamsdirect.com and click on the store.
Mike

so the price would be whatever price is on the site, and we're only save on shipping, is this right?

The tank that I'm planning will use 6 39w t5's. I plan on keeping 1 clam in it.

I'm with fitz on this one. I want a clam, but everything I want on their site seems to be sold allready. I want in if i can find something I want that they have. How do we order IF I find something?

I am interested as well, but I'd like to see if they get a new shipment in before we order so there's a better selection.....

you have to contact them and find out when their order is coming in and when they update their site. they do it once a week usually and thats when you can catch the best clams.

im also in if i can grab a nice one.

It looks like we have enough people with uberfrags and here, but not enough clams to choose from. The other problem is how far some people will have to drive in this weather. Iit might not be worth the savings compared to splitting the shipping costs with someone near them. So Mike D is Naperville, I am near woodfield mall if anyone is interested with that location. Since the group buy might not work, splitting shipping costs with a few other fellow reefers might be the way to go. Who has had good experiences with reasonable prices with ordering clams from the net?
