I bought the skimmer new 8 months ago and the feed pump was a mag 7, I switch to a mag 9.5 with a gate valve a few weeks ago. The mag is not a part of the sale you can also use a mag 7 .Thanks for asking.

You could also gravity feed it through the overflow I'd assume(which is what I plan on doing once my tank gets drilled).
