Phosphate Sponge use

I can stick this right in my canister filter media basket? Would you recommend this brand?

We run a Magnum loaded with Phosguard. Works great, easy to change out and you know it is getting all the water ran through with having it plumbed right in your system. Remember you do have to be careful as some of these brands will actually leach Phosphate right back into your system.

I would do a search because I do not believe that is a recommended brand. I'm not sure of the spelling, but rowaphos is highly recommended.
