Anyone have a good phyto culture or two? Anyone selling a kalk reactor?

Hi all!

I guess the swap would be a good a time as any to get my phyto started. I'm wanting to dose phyto for pods and eventually a clam, amongst the other critters in the tank that benefit from it.

If anyone has some good cultures they wouldn't mind selling, that would be great! I don't know a ton about the different species of phyto, but anything that pods will like is my main reason for getting it.

Also, I'm going to need a kalk reactor. Just curious if anyone had one for sale for the swap. If not, they're not terribly hard to DIY, but do please let me know if you have one!

Thanks all!

Brandon

I have some phyto I started from some DT's. I could bring you a bottle of it. I use it to feed my copepods which I am feeding to my dwarf seahorses. The copepod culture is doing so well I hardly ever have to hatch brine shrimp anymore. The horses are much healthier since feeding copepods.

Wow! Thats pretty awesome, Mike. What are the details of your setup?

And I'd love to get a bottle from ya.

I can bring a small bottle of Isochrysis to the swap if you'd like.

Yeah, that would be great, Tomoko!

Thanks!

BTW, how do you guys do your cultures? The only instruction I've seen is on Melevsreef.com. It was pretty much "add a few drops of miracle grow liquid fertilizer, put on light and some bubbles, and stir it each day" if I remember correctly. Any thoughts?

How tall is it?

I don't have a ton to trade... probably not enough to cover the cost of it.

I've only got some wham'n watermelons, radioactive dragons eyes, and some basic mushrooms. Thats why I'm looking forward to the frag swap!

I very well may take it! I love that its tall and thin because I don't have so much horizontal space behind the tank, but plenty of height with a 45g tall.

You don't need to prepay. I will bring it to the swap and you can get it there. If I have you prepay I know I will have it spent on something else before the swap. So basically you are my savings account. lol. see you at the swap. counting down the days
