Best Clown Fish

I am going to be purchasing a pair of clown fish very soon. In your opinion what is the least aggressive, hardiest, and most fun to watch clown fish? Thanks for anyone's input.

x2 for all the reasons stated above.

Also buy one significantly larger than the other. You'll have a better chance of them pairing.

Agree with Flipper 100%. Either Occellaris or True Percs. If you don't like orange, you can go with a pair of Black Occellaris clowns. If you are looking for something non-aggressive, put Maroon Clowns on the very bottom of your list.

True Percs for me are the best by far! have way more personality than Occellaris and have more black and deeper orange depending on which ones you get, but i would definately check out rods-reef.com. they are more expensive but awesome clowns

check out the gold bar maroons. one of my personal favorites (except for the aggressiveness)

But the Black and White Ocellaris are cool (a bit pricey) I love mine, had her for a year, and I think she's mated with my false perc

My ocellaris pair appears to be pretty idiotproof. I've even had them shipped, the female had a leaky bag and arrived in barely enough water to cover her (about a literal cup of water) and pulled through wonderfully. They'll eat any kind of food and don't bother anything else. Plus they're wicked cute when I get home, come into my room and they rush to the feeding corner of the tank to greet me

Thanks guys. I appreciate the input. I have two tanks so I think I will start with the ocellaris, another question. Should I go with tank raised or wild? One shop in town keeps tank raised and they are going to be $15 a piece o sale Monday, if you purchase two of them. That seems to be be a great deal for them. They also have some blacks but they are $35 a piece.

Get the tank raised, then you don't have to worry as much about brookanella and other disease. It is always a good idea to support breeders.

Yup, tank raised are the way to go. Whether black or orange is personal preference, I don't think it affects behavior. Buying tank bred fish is always a good practice.

I'd also get the tank-raised clowns. They were born in a captive environment, which usually means they'll be hardier in the long run. Also, I agree with LockeOak - supporting breeders is a good idea.

My vote is for the Ocellaris clownfish as well. Pair up very well and get along well with most tankmates. Not aggressive at all.
