Filtration Question

Not sure what type of filter to get. Can I get a hang on or should I get a canister type. I have a 20 gallon tank making it salt water.
I have a Hydor circulation pump in there now, that's it, besides the water & aganite.

What do you plan on keeping? If your planiing a reef go with a refugium with a hang on overflow box for sure!

If you're interested in pursuing a reef tank or fish only tank you should look into obtaining a protein skimmer.

I would pass on the canister filter (even more so if you decide on a reef).

Live Rock should be your source of biological filtration.
