Mystery Noise....need help....

I only hear this at night and have ruled out cracking glass....thank goodness! It sounds like you've dropped a marble in an empty aquarium. Just that real loud "crack" noise. I have lost 2 green chromis in the past 2 months for no apparent reason, so I'm not sure it the two are linked or not.

Any ideas?

Yep, sounds like you have a mantis or pistol shrimp in there... Do a search and find out how to trap the little bugger!!!

Pistol shrimp are fine, it's the mantis shrimp you have to watch out for. Could be either...

Yep you gots your self a mantis or a pistol. I had a mantis shrimp. I had to sit up at night with a flash light and make sure. Then trapping him wasnt too hard. Good Luck
