Refugium pulling away from skimmer productivity?

I've noticed since my Calurpea has really taken off in the refugium that my Remora does quite a bit less work then it once did. Is this somthing that is remotley related? Or should I tear the Remora down and clean it. It's been cleaned monthly since I purchased it, but I haven't in about 2 months now.

Probably woulden't hurt to clean it, but I was just curious if the refugium working the way it is now, if it could make the skimmer work a little less?

I belive that the Macro is feeding off the junk in your system so there is less to skim.

So yes it would produce less.

I agree.

Both are means of nutrient export. One takes from the other, that's why it's suggested that the fuge come before the skimmer, although either works.
