1/2" bulkheads okay in sump?

Thinking of buying a 55G sump that the owner thinks has two bulkheads that are 1/2" each. If I want to use a Panworld external pump that has specs of 1" input and 1" output, can this sump be of any use to me?
Can I bump up the 1/2" bulkhead to 1" to meet the pump?
Also, any idea why I would want two bulkheads on a sump?

Thank you!

I would re drill it and put in a larger bulkhead. How close together are the holes. Personally, I install all SCH80 bulkheads, most of which are 1 1/4". Even my 3/4" PS40 Panworld is fed by a 1 1/4" bulkhead. Not having the appropriate amount of water input can stress a pump.

Couldn't agree more!! I always bump up my hole openings at least another 1/4". My return pump is a 1"in/1" out. The drain in the sump is 1.5" and necks down to 1" right befoire the pump. Get that sump and open the holes if you have room.

I appreciate your input. I will check out the sump and hopefully the holes are larger than the owner recalled. Thank you!

Sounds like he might have been running 2 smaller pumps instead of 1 larger one.

The sump's acrylic right?
