Copperband Butterflyfish

I recently, 2 days ago got a Copperband Butterflyfish and my yellow tang and foxface ganged up on him, having him in a corner and bothering him all the time. Any suggestions ?

You can use the old stand-by of moving some rockwork around, but if all three are in a 75 gallon tank you will probably experience a level of aggression with the yellow tang. The foxface should eventually leave the CBB alone. They are normally peaceful fish. I believe the fact that you have 3 similar shaped fish in a 75 gallon tank is causing the foxface to be more aggressive than normal. I would be concerned about the CBB. They have a poor survival rate and he really doesn't need the added stressors. Did you quarantine him prior to adding him to the tank? How is he eating?

I decided to put him in the 10 gallon for now by himself, he started eating within 10 minutes, I think he will be OK

Thanks. I didn't think the yellow tank can be so aggressive ?

I would not keep the CBB in the 10 gallon tank for an extended period of time. Make sure he has plenty of hiding places while he is in there. Yes, yellow tangs are known to be aggressive to similar shaped species. He is acting how he would be expected to act.

Oh, and many CBB seemingly eat well for a period of time and then die. Unfortunately, their track record is poor, although the Australian variety does much better.
