What on earth is this

got home from work last night and found this in my tank...

apologies for pic quality was with a mobile phone camera

its a brown colour, pulsates and rocks itself around the tank, then every now and again it will 'flower' like a fan worm

im guessing whatever it is was hiding in my LR but i dont know if its bad or good and if you tell me its bad i dont know how im going to find it when i get home from work tonight, because it wasnt there this morning

Thanks in advance

Mike

Hard to say. If you say it Flowers Like a fan worm. You might mean it has a crown like a Tube worm or Feather Duster. It could be a TubeWorm that has lost its casing. If it is it will find a spot and make a new casing. My Tube Worm did that. Try to get a better pic and Post it in the Other Inverts Forum. Someone with more knowledge than me will know. Good Luck

From the pic it looks like a peanut worm..but the "flower" you are describing makes it sound more like some type of cucumber.

Either way it is a beneficial worm.

Looks like a peanut worm to me too. Is it a flower like a featherduster or more or a small mouth?
