weird stuff growing in LR

Hi,

I have patches of this stuff growin in my LR, seem to be like fungus or sumthing like that, anyone know what it is ? is it good ? bad? how to remove?

before you do your next water change, stir them up a little with your hand. theyre small detritus containers (easily released) when disturbed. also, theyre tiny nitrate filters from mutha nature. so, yes they are good but must be cleaned out occasionally, just like the all filters!
