Crazy Fighting Conch
i had two fighting conch's in my tank . all of my tank perams are good . for the past week the conch have been jumping in the tank and acting crazy , literally jumping off the sand like a frog.. they have both since died. what could have caused such a thing to happen and were they jumping to try and tell me somehting. thanks for your help..

i didn't feed them anything. They ate algae from the sandbed and tank walls. A few days before they died, i turned off the light for 3 or 4 days to kill off cyano so the green algae didnt' grow at all.

The jumping is normal, and is probably how they got their name. Without knowing more about you tank it's hard to say what killed them though. "Good" is a relative description for parameters. It helps to have number, especially salinity since it's pretty important and there seem to be lots of interpretations of what a good salinity is. Also, how long were these guys in the tank? 1 fighting conch is pushing it in a 30 gal, so it's very unlikely that a tank that size could keep 2 fed. If they were new, how did you acclimate them?
