Are my PH readings OK???

My test usually reads 8.0-8.2. Today I tested and my PH was 8.6! Is this ok or is there a problem??

Yeah, that is at the upper end. Keeping it stable without wild swings is what should be aimed for.

Well it has never showed up that high. When I test it is always 8.0-8.2. So that is why I was so concerned.

It can vary alot depending on the time of day you take it. I know when the lights are off in my tank it gets to about 8 but when they've been on a while its at about 8.3. Having a ph Monitor continuously watching the tank really opens up your eyes as to how much it does vary during the day.
