CA reactor media
I am looking to buy some media for a new reactor I got. Can you please tell me what the difference is between the "normal" stuff and the coarse stuff? Which is better? What do you use? Do either have advantages and/or disadvantages?

the courser stuff is what i use now.it does not turn into mud like the finer stuf.i use arm and am pleased with it.i can go 6 months without changing or adding where with the fine arm it needed attention every couple of months

I've never used the fine stuff so I don't have any experience on whether or not it lasts longer. I will say however that my reactor, a Geo, calls for using the course media in the directions. Maybe you should check yours and see what it says, maybe it makes a difference??

I've switched from the finer ARM media to the coarser ARM media. It definately lasts longer and I don't get the small particles running through my reactor pump as I did with the finer stuff.
