blak spots on clowns
I do have corals and I wonder if the spots could be from them, or what signs make it more apparent that it is a parasite?
I have mushrooms, hairy & regular, zoos, torch coral. My clowns seem healthy and are eating, but they both have a few spots. The spots seem to be a variety of sizes, a couple are lager than others. The spots seem flat or almost internal. They had no spots until I entered the corals. I got a few corals with some live rock from a friend. The clowns are hosting in the corals. Should I be concerned and treat them? thank you |

If the spots are raised, and have a well-defined margin, then i wouldn't be inclined to think they are stings from corals. Coral stings are usually flush, and look like they fade out along the margin of the spot.

definitely sounds like they are brushing up against your corals...they will fade with time.

I have an a.percula who spends so much time in the frogspawn that she's starting to look like a SI perc, if only all the spots would connect
At first I thought they'd fade as her slime coat built up, but she's just a permanently freckled girl now. Her partner is an onyx ocellaris. I have no idea if he has any spots, since he's black to begin with. |

My clowns also have the spots and I am worried it could be black spot.... but hoping it is coral related.
~~Can you guys post a pic of what your clowns look like with the harmless freckels? |

Best I can do; these guys go too fast for pics most of the time. The white splash is a snail on the glass...
