White Cap

I have a chance to pick one up for my collection. I was wondering from those who have them what they are like.... do they have a temper or are they more docile(sp)... I would also love to see pictures of yours also. What is their natural host? Haddoni?

They are vicious and ugly, IMHO. I have had a pair for almost three years, and they are my least favorite fish. You should see them harassing black Os in a 240G tank

Here are pics of my two...CB, and still very small. About an inch for the larger one, and 3/4 of an inch for the smaller one.

They havent paired yet, but I have hopes that eventually...

First two are misbars.

The one in the second pic is fully bared. How many of them do you have? And who produced CB caps? if you don't mind sharing the info

What do mean misbars? The holotypes that Allen first discribed had those exact markings. I always thought that the ones with the attached cap and sideburns were simply overmarked. . Are those from RicordiaKing's breedings?

I do agree with Marina though. My leuc. was very ill tempered and once you get over the rare part, you realize that most of them are just not very attractive.

I got mine from Randy Bone...through someone else. Dont know if they have the same arrangement, (Randy Breeds them, Shawn sells them), but thats how it worked out for me.

FS Juvi Amphiprion leucokranos pairs

1st pair did not make it, DOA.

Second pair is pictured. They came in looking rough, and came down with what I diagnosed as Brook on the 2nd day...might have been ich since I've never seen Brook before...but the largest had white patches on the body and several small spots all over. Immediately QT'd and began formalin dips. They were in QT/hospital tank for a month, and then got moved over to their current home.

I only have the two, and like how they are differently marked.

The bigger one is definately mean. She'll chase the smaller one across the tank to the H.crispa anemone. She goes after him any time he crosses the line that she decides is about 2/3 of the tank.
Whats interesting to me is that the larger one was the most sick...didnt know if she was gonna make it.

Been thinking that myself lately....however, if I try to get rid of them, I think my wife will kill me. She saw what I paid for them....

Just out of curiousity, what is your take on how these ship? Based on my experiances, I'm saying they ship poorly.

No reason to be sorry. I understand these things and it's part of the risk that comes along with these fish.
