So if you pull the pipe out of the overflow, and all the water in the overflow drains into the tank, is that the 6 gallons you are referring to? Sounds like you are covered.

Looks like you figured it perfect. You are getting the most gallons out of your sump.

It's actually less than 4.3 Gal which is why I said the most I would ever need is 6 gals. The overflow dimensions are 10 X 5 X 20. The pipes displace some of the capacity so it's less than 4.3.

The Overflow is 10 X 5 X 22.5. Or 4.9 gals.
