Give us some info on the tank....total gallons....height in inches...what you expect to keep in the tank.

what size tank, and what corals do you plan on keeping? do lots and lots and lots of research before you make any decisions - it will save you lots of time and $$. My advice is do lots of research, decide what you really want to keep, and get what you need for it. If you go cheap to begin you usually end up buying twice to upgrade before long. Buying the more expensive but needed equipment and material is actually cheaper in the long run. You'll save from not buying a second set of lights, skimmer, etc. and from animals not dying off due to a lack of some kind. Did I say do lots of research? Wait and save, or scale down your plans. this hobby is very unforgiving of short cuts.
Keep coming back with the questions, and get some good books. Borneman's Aquarium Corals would be a good start for selection and care of these animals. keep us posted
