zoos falling off?

I have a 10g tank with a sump skimmer and fuge etc. and 2x 35w PC lighting. With 1x clown 1x hermit and 1x peppermint shrimp.

Lately i've noticed zoo polyps falling off and laying on the BB of my tank?

the rock is starting to go bare and the polyps are not fully opening.

i also found a piece of my kenya tree laying on the bottom as well.

Whats going on?

Maybe something is knocking them over? Do you have turbo snails?

I think I see white spots on them... you should read the thread on zoo pox and if that is what you have then I would recommend dipping them in Furan2 ASAP

You are going to have to scrape off all the infected polyps or you will lose your whole tank of zoas.

I'd really like to see what might happen if you started dosing the tank with Vitamin C (see the thread). Maybe it willl stregnthen their immune system. It certainly couldn't hurt.

ok i'm going to try the vitamin C until i get the furan-2 and lugols solution.

the tank is only 15g so i'm gonna start with 1,000 mg 1x a day

I'd start way lower than that at 1st. Maybe break up a 500mg tab in 1/4 & do it 2x/day for 3 days & then 1/2 2x/day & then after 3 more days, do a whole 500mg 2x/day. Stick with that for a week & see what happens. You don't waht to have your pH affected by adding too much. Keep a close eye on that daily as you are dosing.

You should have listened! I have a 100g system & it took me weeks to get up to the 4000mg I'm dosing now. Even after that amount of time I wouldn't suggest dosing more than 250-300mg, 2x/day. I'll bet your pH went thru the roof (actually, dropped thru the basement).
