Alveopora help

Hi, just a question?
I have this alveopora coral that was once one of my favorite pieces in the tank. I have heard caution regarding the difficulty of this coral to keep but I have also heard that it is not nearly as difficult as its cousin the goniapora. Anyway it is slowly dying - here is a couple of photos to show how. the coral was purchased on 9/21/07 and the first picture was taken on 10/7/07, the second picture was taken about 2 months later on 11/27/07.

So does anyone have any suggestions of how I might help this coral?
Is this coral just a goner and I should just accept it and move on.

by the way for informational sake
125g tank
3x250w mh lighting 20000k de bulbs
no other lighting
30gallon sump/fuge with chaeto
about 3600 gallons/hour in water movement
Salinity 1.025
Nitrate - 0
ammonia - 0
dkh - 9.0
calcium - 420-450
ph - 8.0-8.2
temp - 78-82
these parameters are all that I currently measure and all of them stay pretty constant.
I do have a bit of a hair algae problem currently too as the tank is still relatively newly set up (first live rock went in on August 1, 2007) I am doing about 10 gallons/week water changes to battle this and I use only ro/di water.

thanks very much for your input.
Mike
