which type of dips work best for RTN or STN?
I heavily fragged my colony and its getting STN or RTN in the places where i reglued it. Is there a good dip that will help heal the coral faster so i won't keep getting RTN and STN?

I cannot image one dip that would help you. You need to start looking at your water parameters. The only reason a dip would work is if the rtn/stn was caused by some bacterial infection and this is rarely the reason for corals to rtn/stn.
I would imagine that you fragged the coral in the wrong place aswell if it's still spreading. If you frag a coral to stop rtn, you need to still cut it off where there is healty tissue and not cut where there is already tissue loss. |

I've never heard of a dip for stopping STN/RTN. If anything I believe a dip would make the situation worse.

Once they start, it is very rare that it will stop. Even when RTN happens, very rare can you save a frag or 2.

I have saved now 3 small colonies that began a slow RTN (1"/mo.. very slow) by cutting off pieces ahead of the RTN, and re-mounting them. Days later, theyre encrusting and growing again.
Works like a charm, but still not sure what caused the initial RTN to continue. |

I'm with kong. I've stopped STN (Slow tissue necrosis) before by changing coral location, but never RTN (rapid tissue necrosis - ie less than 24hrs and the whole coral is gone).

1" a month is not RTN, but rather STN - which yes you can save

I think you should just test every parameter you have a test for. Bring things back within range as you are able to. And then just show it as much love as possible. I had 2 very delicate SPS that went into RTN within a day of being in my tank. The only thing that was off was Nit. @ 40ppm. Did a couple of small water changes over the course of the day to eliminate the nitrates. After that I left them alone and showed them love. I lost 40% of one colony and near 60% of the other. Both are thriving now and growing well. It took almost 3 days for them to hold on. RTN is not the end all of the time. So make your water pristine and hope. Good luck
